Disney reports that Inside Out tacked on another $5.02 million on Wednesday, off just 33 percent from the same day last week. The latest Pixar smash hit has tallied $262.3 million through 20 days of release, putting it 32 percent ahead of the pace of Up and 16 percent behind Toy Story 3. The pic also surpassed The Incredibles‘ $261.4 million domestic take yesterday to become Pixar’s fifth highest grossing title.
Jurassic World claimed second place yesterday with $3.76 million, down 37 percent from last Wednesday. With a monstrous $569.3 million in the bank through 27 days of release, the film remains ahead of the pace of Marvel’s The Avengers by 7.5 percent.
Terminator Genisys took in $2.73 million yesterday, giving it a 69 percent decline from opening day last Wednesday. Its eight-day domestic haul stands at $52.615 million, which unfortunately puts it 29 percent behind whereTerminator Salvation stood at the same point in release.
In fourth place, Magic Mike XXL pulled $2.725 million for a 71 percent week-to-week drop from opening day last week. With $36.2 million in the bank through eight days of play, the sequel is trending 43 percent behind its predecessor.
Filling out the top five, Ted 2 posted $1.79 million yesterday, giving it a 41 percent drop from last Wednesday. The comedy sequel’s 13-day domestic gross is $64.6 million, 51 percent less than the original film at the same point.
